Deception Point by Dan Brown

Deception PointDeception Point by Dan Brown

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

"When a new NASA satellite detects evidence of an astonishingly rare object buried deep in the Artic ice, the floundering space agency proclaims a much needed victory.... A victory that has profound implications for U.S. space policy and the impending presidential election.
With the Oval Office in the balance, the President dispatches White House Intelligence analyst Rachel sexton to the Arctic to verify the authenticity of the find. Accompanied by a team of experts, including the charismatic Michael Tolland,  Rachel uncovers the unthinkable -- evidence of scientific trickery -- a bold deception that threatens to plunge the world into controversy.
But before Rahel can make her findings known, she realizes perhaps too late, that such knowledge puts her and Tolland in deadly jeopardy. Fleeing for their lives in an environment as desolate as it is lethal, they possess only one hope for survival: to find who is behind this masterful ploy. The truth, they will learn, is the most shocking deception of all"

Well it took 230 pages to start getting interesting, in that first 230 pages I was willing to give this 1 star close the book and never open it again.
But having read The Davinci Code, Angels and Demons, also The Lost Symbol and loving all three of them, I knew this one had to get better. Hell, it's a Dan Brown book, it has to be full of suspense and conspiracy.
Hanging in there paid off in the end, once I made it through that dull beginning, it was chocka block full of twists, turns and thrills. It eventually ended up being such a page turner, I did not put it down again until I got to that last page.
Any Dan Brown fan will love this if you just hang in there for the action to start, I think it was 234 when I finally thought "here we go.." :)
