Sticks & Stones (Cut & Run #2) by Madeline Urban & Abigail Roux

Sticks & Stones (Cut & Run, #2)Sticks & Stones by Madeleine Urban
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Genre: Gay Romance, Crime/Thriller

"Cut & Run Series Book Two - Sequel to Cut & Run Six months after nearly losing their lives to a serial killer in New York City, FBI Special Agents Ty Grady and Zane Garrett are suffering through something almost as frightening: the monotony of desk duty. When they're ordered to take a vacation for the good of everyone's sanity, Ty bites the bullet and takes Zane home with him to West Virginia, hoping the peace and quiet of the mountains will give them the chance to explore the explosive attraction they've so far been unable to reconcile with their professional partnership. Ty and Zane, along with Ty's father and brother, head up into the Appalachian mountains for a nice, relaxing hike deep into the woods... where no one will hear them scream. They find themselves facing danger from all directions: unpredictable weather, the unrelenting mountains, wild animals, fellow hikers with nothing to lose, and the most terrifying challenge of all. Each other."

~Review~

These too men melt my heart... I live for their sweet and tender moments. In this book Ty and Zane have been stuck behind desks until they can pass a mental evaluation. Burns sends them on 'Vacation', 'suggesting' Ty goes home.

Ty takes Zane home and let me tell you if you thought Ty was a crackpot just wait until you meet his Grandfather and his spade. Ty's family are different.. But they are so loveable. We actually find out what that B. initial of Ty's stands for.. But I'm not gonna spoil it and tell you, you'll have to read it and find out.

I want Deuce as my shrink he really knows what he's talking about. I loved this laundry analogy.

"... See, some people, they're like Velcro. You're sticky. Your problems stick to you like fuzzballs from the laundry; you take them everywhere with you and people can see them plain as day. Ty, he's like spandex. Nothing sticks to him, and he's shiny on the outside."

I loved this instalment, seeing Ty and Zane fall that little bit more.

I was excited to read the next one, now I have read the sneak peak that was in the back of this, I am even more excited.. It's going to be hilarious.. Just reading that first chapter had me covering my mouth to smothers giggles.

Cut & Run (Cut & Run #1) by Madeliene Urban and Abigail Roux

Cut & Run (Cut & Run, #1)Cut & Run by Madeleine Urban
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Genre: Gay Romance, Crime/Thriller

"A series of murders in New York City has stymied the police and FBI alike, and they suspect the culprit is a single killer sending an indecipherable message. But when the two federal agents assigned to the investigation are taken out, the FBI takes a more personal interest in the case.
Special Agent Ty Grady is pulled out of undercover work after his case blows up in his face. He's cocky, abrasive, and indisputably the best at what he does. But when he's paired with Special Agent Zane Garrett, it's hate at first sight. Garrett is the perfect image of an agent: serious, sober, and focused, which makes their partnership a classic cliche: total opposites, good cop-bad cop, the odd couple. They both know immediately that their partnership will pose more of an obstacle than the lack of evidence left by the murderer.
Practically before their special assignment starts, the murderer strikes again this time at them. Now on the run, trying to track down a man who has focused on killing his pursuers, Grady and Garrett will have to figure out how to work together before they become two more notches in the murderer's knife."

~Review~

I was initially going to do this whole series in one post but I love these books so much, I feel they deserve a full post each.
I absolutely loved this book, it was full of mystery and suspense. The main characters are FBI agents on a serial killer case, I was wracking my brain along with the characters trying to figure out the pattern and what the tokens meant. I loved the banter between Ty and Zane, I read the majority of this book with a huge grin on my face, so much so that my cheeks ached after I finished it. Their partnership is brilliant.

Brandy L Rivers

My name is Brandy L Rivers. I’m a wife and mother of three with an overactive imagination. I’ve been obsessed with monsters and magic for pretty much ever.  So I decided to write the stories that keep me awake at night.
I started writing at a very young age. It probably didn’t help that I won the young author award in first grade, it might have started it all.
If you haven’t figured it out, I love to read. Those choose your own adventures were an early favorite. Then I moved on to Stephen King at 10. Hey, my grandmother who I love dearly got me started on horror movies at 5. Then by 12 I was reading Anne Rice. I read just about anything, but I love my monsters and magic.

~SYNOPSIS~

Her twenty-first birthday was supposed to be the beginning of a new chapter. She had been preparing herself for the moment she would be a real adult for months.

When she becomes the owner of a creepily-human dog named Kaiser, she finds herself oddly at peace with the unexpected addition to her household and clings tightly to him when tragedy strikes and shatters her world.
As she fights to put the pieces back together without losing herself in the Darkness that is building inside of her with each terrible step off of her path, a rag-tag band of supporters rally behind her. Each one of them prepared to go to the ends of the earth and back
She must find a way to defeat the Chaos that has consumed her life or risk losing everyone and everything that she has left. Including her soul.

Bleeding Perseverance by Rico Lamoureux

Bleeding PerseveranceBleeding Perseverance by Rico Lamoureux
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Every heart has to find its own truth in life. Its own path to love. Sometimes these journeys can test one’s spirit to a near breaking point. But for those who endure, what they find on the other side of perseverance can make it all worthwhile.

Tobias and Karida each had a hidden secret close to their heart. One, out of a need to protect, the other, to be free. With the core of these two secrets one in the same, fate brings their two different worlds together in this dramatic story of hope, inner strength, and true love

* I received an ARC in return for an honest review. *

WOW. Bleeding Perseverance was such a thought provoking read. It's a short read but extremely enthralling. I didn't want to put it down to pick my kids up from school, It was very tempting to just keep reading and be damned with the consequences. No doubt earning "Worst Mother of the Year Award"... But I have only just gotten rid of that award, so I had to put it down. ;)

Tobias and Karida are both very strong and mature for their young ages. They have both been through terrible things in their lives. They have seen what evil is in the world with open eyes. I shouldn't be surprised with their strength. They are both admirable characters.

I am concerned that some readers will be disturbed by the underage sex that this book contains and use it against the author as a negative. I personally didn't feel it was underage as I am from England and the legal age for sexual relations is 16 there. but I know America is 18 and have seen other books receive unfair reviews for containing sex between characters that are under 18.

This book was written so well it deserves to be judged fairly. It brought to light all the terrible things that happen around in other countries, that we don't always get to see. And for that I would give it 6 stars if it was allowed. I'd like to thank Mr Lamoureux for sharing this story with the world.

I am so happy to be able to visit Edenton again. I love that town, I wish I could move there.

I adore everyone of Brandy's characters, Hayden had the #1 guy spot after he stuck up for Fallen in In Too Deep and then when he featured in Amethyst's book Shadows of the Past. But I am sorry Hayden, please forgive me.. Tremaine has knocked you off the top spot.

This story showed you past and present, it worked well. I am a Werewolf girl and thought I would miss them since this book was based around the Mages, but I was surprised when I got to the end of the book and hadn't had one thought like "Where are my wolves" or "Someone needs to turn furry already"... I enjoyed all their different abilities. It was fantastic.

I am looking forward to reading Preston's story, he needs a HEA. I want to see Jamie's HEA too, I can't wait to witness that moment when she see's her Mr Right. Plus more of Jamie means we will get to see more of Jess (I hope so anyway), I like Jess.

Sorry to be a nag Brandy, But chop-chop, I want the next one already.
