Armed & Dangerous (Cut & Run #5) by Abigail Roux

Armed & Dangerous (Cut & Run, #5)Armed & Dangerous by Abigail Roux

My rating: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★

Left alone in Baltimore after his unpredictable lover bails, Special Agent Zane Garrett takes his frustration out on everything in his path until he is ordered to Chicago to back up an undercover operative. When he gets there, though, he finds himself face to face with his wayward partner, Special Agent Ty Grady. They have to deal with the uncertainty lingering between them while they work to retrieve their intended mark, a retired hit man and CIA wet-works operative named Julian Cross.

Ty, once a marine and now an FBI hotshot, has a penchant for being unpredictable, a trait Zane can vouch for. Zane is a man who once lived for his job but has come to realize his heartbreaking past doesn’t have to overshadow his future. They're partners, friends, lovers, and the go-to team for unusual cases. With Cross and his innocuous boyfriend, Cameron Jacobs, in tow, Ty and Zane must navigate the obstacles of a cross-country trek, including TSA pat-downs, blizzards, their uncooperative prisoners, CIA kill teams, a desperate lack of sleep or caffeine, and each other. Ty and Zane are determined to get Julian Cross to DC in one piece, but it’s starting to look like it might be the last thing they do.

~ Review~

I can't say it enough, I just love this series... Ty and Zane are the best couple, their banter is hilarious.

Just incase you need proof of their couple cuteness... is that even a real term? it is now.
“Come on, " he said after a few seconds of content silence. "Let's go see the sights for a few hours. Pretend it's real."
Zane's brow wrinkled "Pretend what's real?"
Ty slid his hand down Zane's arm and linked their fingers again. "That I can hold your hand without worrying about being reconized.”

Throw Julian and Cameron from Warrior's Cross in the mix and well you will be in stitches. Ty vs Julian.... My gosh that is too funny.

“What do you want, MacGuffin, a duel?”“No.” Julian held out both hands, one palm flat, the other held over it in a fist. “Rock, paper, scissors. Two out of three.”Ty rolled his eyes and held out his fist, apparently willing to play. Julian hit his palm three times, and Ty kept time with his fist in the air. But when Julian threw a paper, Ty reached into his jacket with his other hand and pulled his gun, aiming it at Julian.“Ty!” Zane said in exasperation from the front seat.“Glock, paper, scissors. I win.”“You are an ass,” Julian muttered.”

Can't wait to move on to Stars & Stripes, but alas I must wait.. Until pay day! Why can't I have a money tree?

Divide & Conquer (Cut & Run #4) by Madeleine Urban & Abigail Roux

Divide & Conquer (Cut & Run, #4)Divide & Conquer by Madeleine Urban
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Genre: Gay Romance, Crime/Thriller

"Baltimore, Maryland, is a city in alarming distress. Rising violence is fanning the flames of public outrage, and all law enforcement agencies, including the FBI, are catching blame. Thus the FBI’s latest ideas to improve public relations: a municipal softball league and workshops for community leaders. But the new commitments just mean more time Special Agents Ty Grady and Zane Garrett have to spend apart when they’re happily exploring how to be more than by-the-book partners.

Then the latest spate of crime explodes in their faces—literally—throwing the city, the Bureau, and Ty and Zane’s volatile partnership both in and out of the office into chaos. They’re hip-deep in trouble, trying to track down bombers and bank robbers in the dark with very few clues, and the only way to reach the light at the end of the tunnel together requires Ty and Zane to close their eyes and trust each other to the fiery end."

Wow, this series just gets better and better. Divide & Conquer was so full of angst compared to the earlier ones.. I still loved it. It made me sad, happy, anxious  and I even yelled "hallelujah" more than once too.

“Marines either know how to use an iron or they get married [...]. The iron is less dangerous.”

This series needs reading.

Fish & Chips (Cut & Run #3) by Madeleine Urban & Abigail Roux

Fish & Chips (Cut & Run, #3)Fish & Chips by Madeleine Urban
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Genre: Gay Romance, Crime/Thriller

"Special Agents Ty Grady and Zane Garrett are back on the job, settled into a personal and professional relationship built on fierce protectiveness and blistering passion. Now they're assigned to impersonate two members of an international smuggling ring-an out-and-proud married couple-on a Christmas cruise in the Caribbean. As their boss says, surely they'd rather kiss each other than be shot at, and he has no idea how right he is. Portraying the wealthy criminals requires a particular change in attitude from Ty and Zane while dealing with the frustrating waiting game of their assignment. As it begins to affect how they treat each other in private, Ty and Zane realize there's more to being partners than watching each other's backs, and when the case takes an unexpected turn and threatens Ty's life, Ty and Zane will have to navigate seas of white lies and stormy secrets, including some of their own."

~Review~

I just Adore Ty and Zane.
In this adventure the two partners are sent on a Caribbean Cruise, undercover taking the place of two crooks hoping to bring down more of the ring.

"Corbin and Del Porter aren't brothers, gentlemen. They're lovers. Legally married in fact." He reached out and place two silver rings on the desk in front of them. "Go ahead, put those on." He instructed.

Getting to watch Ty and Zane as an out the closet couple was so heart warming. I really hope they come out to the Bureau in the next book. I don't want them to hide now I have seen them like we did in this book.

Finally those three words actually got said in this book. I have never wanted to hear the words "I love you" more in my life then I did between these two. Because we all know they both love each other. I won't tell you who said it though. ;)

Obviously shit hits the fan somewhere along the line. It wouldn't be a Grady and Garrett case if it was all smooth sailing...

I can't wait to start their next adventure, Divide & Conquer.

Sticks & Stones (Cut & Run #2) by Madeline Urban & Abigail Roux

Sticks & Stones (Cut & Run, #2)Sticks & Stones by Madeleine Urban
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Genre: Gay Romance, Crime/Thriller

"Cut & Run Series Book Two - Sequel to Cut & Run Six months after nearly losing their lives to a serial killer in New York City, FBI Special Agents Ty Grady and Zane Garrett are suffering through something almost as frightening: the monotony of desk duty. When they're ordered to take a vacation for the good of everyone's sanity, Ty bites the bullet and takes Zane home with him to West Virginia, hoping the peace and quiet of the mountains will give them the chance to explore the explosive attraction they've so far been unable to reconcile with their professional partnership. Ty and Zane, along with Ty's father and brother, head up into the Appalachian mountains for a nice, relaxing hike deep into the woods... where no one will hear them scream. They find themselves facing danger from all directions: unpredictable weather, the unrelenting mountains, wild animals, fellow hikers with nothing to lose, and the most terrifying challenge of all. Each other."

These too men melt my heart... I live for their sweet and tender moments. In this book Ty and Zane have been stuck behind desks until they can pass a mental evaluation. Burns sends them on 'Vacation', 'suggesting' Ty goes home.

Ty takes Zane home and let me tell you if you thought Ty was a crackpot just wait until you meet his Grandfather and his spade. Ty's family are different.. But they are so loveable. We actually find out what that B. initial of Ty's stands for.. But I'm not gonna spoil it and tell you, you'll have to read it and find out.

I want Deuce as my shrink he really knows what he's talking about. I loved this laundry analogy.

"... See, some people, they're like Velcro. You're sticky. Your problems stick to you like fuzzballs from the laundry; you take them everywhere with you and people can see them plain as day. Ty, he's like spandex. Nothing sticks to him, and he's shiny on the outside."

I loved this instalment, seeing Ty and Zane fall that little bit more.

I was excited to read the next one, now I have read the sneak peak that was in the back of this, I am even more excited.. It's going to be hilarious.. Just reading that first chapter had me covering my mouth to smothers giggles.

Cut & Run (Cut & Run #1) by Madeliene Urban and Abigail Roux

Cut & Run (Cut & Run, #1)Cut & Run by Madeleine Urban
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Genre: Gay Romance, Crime/Thriller

"A series of murders in New York City has stymied the police and FBI alike, and they suspect the culprit is a single killer sending an indecipherable message. But when the two federal agents assigned to the investigation are taken out, the FBI takes a more personal interest in the case.
Special Agent Ty Grady is pulled out of undercover work after his case blows up in his face. He's cocky, abrasive, and indisputably the best at what he does. But when he's paired with Special Agent Zane Garrett, it's hate at first sight. Garrett is the perfect image of an agent: serious, sober, and focused, which makes their partnership a classic cliche: total opposites, good cop-bad cop, the odd couple. They both know immediately that their partnership will pose more of an obstacle than the lack of evidence left by the murderer.
Practically before their special assignment starts, the murderer strikes again this time at them. Now on the run, trying to track down a man who has focused on killing his pursuers, Grady and Garrett will have to figure out how to work together before they become two more notches in the murderer's knife."

~Review~

I was initially going to do this whole series in one post but I love these books so much, I feel they deserve a full post each.
I absolutely loved this book, it was full of mystery and suspense. The main characters are FBI agents on a serial killer case, I was wracking my brain along with the characters trying to figure out the pattern and what the tokens meant. I loved the banter between Ty and Zane, I read the majority of this book with a huge grin on my face, so much so that my cheeks ached after I finished it. Their partnership is brilliant.
