Who He Is (FireNine #1) by S. Q. Williams

Who He Is (FireNine, #1)Who He Is by Shanora Williams
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

* An ARC was provided by the author for an honest review *

The writing of this book was wonderful, it was so descriptive and full. It flowed so well I struggled to put it down. I would say its S. Q. Williams' best work to date.

"Eliza Smith has never been the one to seek a relationship. She’s never dated a guy in her life, never even hugged a man (outside of her father/manager of the hot and popular rock band, FireNine) but when she decides to spend her summer on tour with FireNine, it all changes. Eliza really gets to meet Gage Grendel - her former crush from high school and the lead singer of FireNine - and witness sides to him to which she’ll begin to truly despise.
She’ll ignore him, she’ll dislike his ways, she’ll do anything to try and stay away from him until Gage finally gets her to slip up and give in. She agrees on a casual fling with Gage, but soon they’ll both see how the fling will blur into something they can’t control and when it’s finally time for Eliza to go and accomplish her own dreams, she’ll know there’s more she took from Gage than she ever thought possible."

I came out of this book with a very strong love/hate relationship with this book and its characters, the only character that I loved none stop was Roy, I would have been more than happy to help him with his kitten heads. Lol..
Eliza was a really connectable character, I understood her thought recess more than I think she even did at times.
I went into this story expecting to fall in love with the main love interest. The rock star. Gage Grendell. Unfortunately he wasn't very likeable, ok he did have sweet moments and that is why I said love/hate but I must say I hated him 95% of the time. Gage is so arrogant. I wanted to punch his charming smirk off his face. But saying that, that is how he needed to be.
Montana and his Mohawk was just lovely, I liked how he connected with Eliza, the only time he made me angry was when he supported Gage when he didn't deserve it.
Deed.. Poor Deed.. I liked Deed.
Now Ben was a cool Dad, I liked Ben a lot.

One Night With a Rock Star by Chana Keefer

One Night With a Rock StarOne Night With a Rock Star by Chana Keefer
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

"Good, Country-bred girl meets the Rock Star of her dreams and worlds collide.
For Esther Collins, struggling journalism student and mediocre print model, international singing star Sky has been the ultimate male since she sported frizzy hair, braces and too-skinny legs. She has dreamed of meeting this icon countless times. But life has a way of happening when you least expect it... and of coming in hues that don't fit so easily into simple black and white.
Will Esther's deep roots in family and God keep her feet on the ground when a tornado named Sky blows her world apart?"

Wow what an amazing book. It had everything, heartbreakingly sad moments that made tears well in my eyes, happy loving moments that made tears well in my eyes, and anxious scary moments too. People need to read this book, you will feel everything in this book.
It was beautiful ending. I got excited to see a sneak at the sequel until it ended where it ended. How Gould the author leave us there. My heart is left in the pit of my stomach. I hope the next book is out now or soon.

New Beginnings (Others of Edenton #0.5) by Brandy L. Rivers

New Beginnings (Prequel to Others of Edenton)New Beginnings by Brandy L. Rivers
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

"Jess knew her life would never move forward if she remained a part of Gregory’s pack. Some Alpha’s just don’t know how to take care of their wolves. She had managed Gregory’s bar for years but she knew he would never sell it to her. After one giant mistake, he went from bad to worse. As a psychic, she knew it was a downward spiral.
Taking her future in her own hands, she contacts the Alpha in Edenton. He is happy to sell the empty bar no one has the time, nor desire to renovate, much less run.
Their attraction is unexpected and the last thing either want, but they find the only thing they need in each other.
There is just one problem. Slater’s second in command is plotting against him. Liam will use anything to take over as Alpha.
Plenty of werewolves, an old vampire flame, plus a paranoid second, and don’t forget the psychic with a whole lot of attitude."

I was a little apprehensive going into this book since it was a prequel because after reading In Too Deep I already know who Jess was with etc. I was worried this would be a little pointless. But boy, was I wrong? If you loved Fallon in In Too Deep you need to read this because Jess will take over the number one woman spot. She is brilliant, she doesn't let anyone give her shit. Slater, wow. I really didn't think anyone could sweep my off my feet more than Brody already had but the minute he said he didn't sleep with his wolves, I knew he was a keeper. Therefore he won my heart. Sorry Brody.
Seeing how Jess left her previous pack and why was something I previously hadn't cared about. I loved Fallon and didn't think I could care about other characters. Within the first couple of lines i was proven wrong. Once I started I couldn't stop. I was pleasantly surprised to find a sneak peek at the next book which is Amethyst's story Shadow of the Past which will hopefully be out later in the year.. You won't believe how much happy dancing around the lounge room that bit of news made me do. :)

In Too Deep (Others of Edenton #1) by Brandy L. Rivers

In Too DeepIn Too Deep by Brandy L. Rivers
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

"Brody is a talented motorcycle mechanic and werewolf stuck in his painful past. On yet another depressing night, he is viciously attacked by vampires.

Fallon is a brilliant tattoo artist with inherent magic. Tired of men and their games, she climbs onto her Harley and leaves her old life behind.

Running for his life, Brody crashes into Fallon and sparks fly. She ends up stranded in the Northwest with her ride out of commission.

Stranded with no ride and nowhere to go, Fallon allows her best friend to convince her to stay in Brody’s apartment. He’s determined to claim her heart and keep her safe from the shadows in her past. Fallon prides herself on her independence and would rather keep him safe, even from herself.

With the impending danger from the group of vampires and dark mages, they will have to work together. The closer they get, the harder it is for her to fight her attraction.

Be prepared for monsters, magic and lots of ink."

This book was a captivating read. Once I started it I couldn't put it down, I had to at one point to sleep but as soon as I woke up I picked it up again. The characters are all so entertaining, they all had strong individual personalities. There was action, suspense and of course romance.

Taking Chances by Molly McAdams

Taking Chances (Taking Chances, #1)Taking Chances by Molly McAdams

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

"Her first year away is turning out to be nearly perfect, but one weekend of giving in to heated passion will change everything.

Eighteen-year-old Harper has grown up under the thumb of her career marine father. Ready to live life her own way and to experience things she's only ever heard of from the jarheads in her father's unit, she's on her way to college at San Diego State University.

Thanks to her new roommate, Harper is introduced to a world of parties, gorgeous guys, family, and emotions. She finds herself being torn in two as she quickly falls in love with both her new boyfriend, Brandon, and her roommate's brother, Chase. Despite their dangerous looks and histories, both men adore Harper and would do anything for her, including taking a step back if it would mean she'd be happy."

This book just kept going and going. I loved it. I was so enthralled in the story that when I had to put it down, to do something I couldn't put off, my mind was still thinking about the characters and wondering what was going to happen next. It was like a roller coaster ride, I was swapping between team Chase and team Brandon like a yoyo.. One minute I hated Harper and the next I loved her. The story was full of "Oh my god, No!" Moments. I cried. I laughed. There was nothing missing in the story, it went everywhere I wanted it to. Absolutely Brilliant.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

"I wish someone would’ve warned me that the world is sometimes a cruel place to live in. I wish someone would have said that guilt and regret may eat away at your mind until there is nothing left but a suffering that lingers. I wish someone would have taken the time to inform me of how difficult it is to dig yourself out of a decision gone bad. I wish to show the rest of those out there who didn’t know either, who are just like me …"

What a heart wrenching story. Beautiful and devastating all in one. A must read for both adults and teenagers.
I felt a connection with the main character Lauren, I went through something simliar at that age, only I didn't choose the same path she did. It really makes you think about what mothers go through in those circumstances. It has been a few days since I read it and it has stayed with me, I am still thinking about it. I highly recommend this.

Excerpt

Lifting his hands, Gage gripped the edge of the pool and pressed his arousal against me. When he was done tasting my neck, he devoured my lips, and I couldn’t help it; I wrapped my arms around his neck. My legs squeezed tighter around him, wanting to feel his hardness against me. It was turning me on in more ways than one. His silky tongue, although laced with alcohol, tasted sweet as it ran over mine.

He started to rub against me and I moaned, running my fingers through his slick hair. His hard chest was pressed firmly against mine, no space between us. The little nibbles and bites he took of my lower lip were driving me insane. His fingers that snuck beneath my bathing suit to slide inside me caused my moans to grow louder and his lips to fall so he could grunt against my neck.

I was spiraling, bucking against him once again. “You like that?” he whispered gruffly in my ear. He reached behind me with his other hand and unhooked the top of my bathing suit. I could have stopped him, but I didn’t. A growl came from his throat as he stared at my bare chest.

I nodded my head at his question, my body begging him to continue. Who knew his fingers could be so magical? He was pushing in and out of me, circling his thumb across my core. I was so close. My fingernails bit into his skin and he went faster, faster, faster, sending me higher and higher… but then he just stopped. Right when I was about to reach the point of it all.

“What the hell are you doing?” I breathed raggedly, aggravated.

He smirked, looking into my eyes and pulling his fingers out of my bottoms. I wanted to beg for his fingers not to leave, but I didn’t. It would have been too embarrassing and shallow. “Since we’re only ‘friends,’ I can’t give you the full effect.”

I scowled at him. “You’re kidding.” He raised an eyebrow. “Right?

“No, Ellie. Let’s just do this shit. I swear it’ll be fun.”

“What do you mean?” I asked, but I knew exactly what he was talking about.

“Nothing between us has to change. It doesn’t have to be serious and I think if we try to continue this little war, someone’s gonna get hurt. Why not just give in to the temptation? We can still be friends, but maybe we can involve the bed and handcuffs I brought up to before at the club?”

He gave a lazy smirk and I snickered. I thought it over, replaying the conversation Montana and I had just moments ago, knowing he was right. I wanted to do more things with Gage than I thought, and with him giving me an orgasm the night before, I was desperate and in need of more. It was bad, but it felt good to be satisfied—to reach the point of bliss and not come down for hours. I didn’t want anyone else in the band to try and give me that kind of satisfaction. Gage was my best bet, so I shrugged and thought to myself, Fuck it. Montana was right. I had to take risks and I was going to be taking a big one with Gage Grendel.

“Okay,” I said right before kissing him and allowing him to finish what he started.
